Mission Quilters

The Women in Mission began in 2003. After shipping hundreds of midwife kits to Global Missions over the years, we shifted our focus to quilts for Lutheran World Relief in September of 2011. Lutheran World Relief Mission Quilts are valuable tools in Lutheran World Relief's work to end poverty, injustice and human suffering. Making LWR Mission Quilts provides an opportunity for Lutherans in the U.S. to answer God's call to love and serve our neighbors in need. To those that receive them, they are a tangible symbol of God's love and compassion. All are welcome to join us – no sewing experience necessary! It’s just an old-fashioned quilting bee with lots of time for fellowship. We meet once a month on the last Tuesday of each month.

Since 2004 we have also supported a Maasai girl at the MaeSae Girls Lutheran School in Tanzania. Our first sponsored student graduated from MGLSS and we paid for her further education to become a teacher. Since Naseriani graduated, we have sponsored Witness. Fund raisers have included bake sales, an afternoon tea party and a Chocolate Festival.

We have been blessed with great support from the congregation and the community.
